Christmas Tunes By Sirastudio, Professional Photographers and Video Production in Harrogate

In putting our ‘SiRAstudio guide to Christmas’ together for our Christmas party photography offering at the Crown Hotel in December, we had much discussion about our favourite Christmas tuneage. The debate is still on.

The general consensus of opinion was that the all-time favourite was the Pogues and Kirsty McColl classic ‘Fairytale of New York‘, however if we go through the whole history of Christmas childhood memories, then Silent Night and ‘ Oh Christmas Tree‘ in its many different languages was high up on the list followed by a few other Nat King Cole faves. Then the odd, rather tearful but particularly anthemic, new Christmas classic makes it onto the list for good measure, like this one:

Hurts – all I want for Christmas

Oooh, there are so many cheerful, soulful, memory-laden and downright heart-warming classics, it really is hard to choose the absolute one. You could listen to them all day for a month…..

For me, for no particular reason, cringers include Wham’s ‘Last Christmas’ and ‘Wish it Could be Christmas Every Day’ by Wizard. But apparently I’m on my own there.

So, while on the one hand, we wind down mentally from our insanely exciting, productive and rewarding year to prepare for the Christmas break, on the other hand, we ramp up our energy levels with much coffee to photograph (in our winter wonderland set) the hoards of happy groups who are already whooping it up at the Crown Hotel party nights. Ho ho ho. It’s all good fun….. Now for some Christmas tunes.
